About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Chief Purchasing Officer (CPO) to lead the global procurement strategy for a large-scale manufacturing and industrial technology organization operating across international markets. This executive leadership role is responsible for overseeing enterprise-wide sourcing strategies, supplier partnerships, procurement operations, and cost optimization initiatives that support the organization’s global manufacturing and operational infrastructure.

The Chief Purchasing Officer will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for developing a modern procurement organization capable of supporting a complex global supply chain environment. As manufacturing organizations continue to face challenges related to supplier risk, logistics disruptions, and cost pressures, this role plays a critical role in ensuring that procurement strategies are resilient, efficient, and aligned with long-term business objectives.

The CPO will oversee global procurement operations that include raw material sourcing, strategic supplier management, contract negotiations, vendor risk management, and procurement technology implementation. The role will require close collaboration with supply chain, operations, finance, manufacturing, and engineering leadership to ensure procurement strategies support operational efficiency and business scalability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the organization’s global procurement strategy aligned with long-term operational and financial objectives.

• Oversee enterprise-wide sourcing initiatives across raw materials, manufacturing components, equipment, and operational services.

• Establish and manage strategic supplier partnerships across domestic and international markets.

• Lead procurement negotiations for large-scale supplier contracts, ensuring optimal pricing, quality, and supply reliability.

• Implement procurement governance frameworks that ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies and regulatory standards.

• Oversee vendor risk management programs that monitor supplier performance, financial stability, and operational reliability.

• Drive cost optimization initiatives across the procurement organization while maintaining high product quality standards.

• Lead procurement transformation initiatives that modernize sourcing processes through digital procurement platforms and analytics tools.

• Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to improve supplier integration and supply continuity.

• Develop performance metrics that evaluate procurement effectiveness, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives.

• Manage large procurement teams responsible for sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract administration, and purchasing operations.

• Ensure procurement activities support sustainability initiatives and responsible sourcing practices.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or Industrial Engineering.

• MBA or advanced degree in supply chain leadership or business management strongly preferred.

15+ years of procurement or supply chain leadership experience within large global organizations.

• Minimum 8+ years in executive or senior procurement leadership roles.

• Proven experience managing large procurement operations across international markets.

• Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and global procurement management.

• Experience implementing procurement technology platforms, supply chain analytics tools, and digital sourcing systems.

• Deep understanding of global supply chain risks, logistics management, and supplier network development.

• Experience managing large procurement budgets and complex supplier contract portfolios.

• Strong financial acumen and ability to align procurement strategies with corporate cost optimization initiatives.

Total Compensation Package: $325,000 – $427,000
