The Director of Golf Operations will lead all aspects of golf course operations, tournament coordination, member experience delivery, staffing, maintenance coordination, and strategic sports programming across multiple luxury properties. This role is central to ensuring operational excellence, world-class service standards, and the consistent delivery of elite golfing experiences across the organization’s portfolio.

This is a high-impact leadership role requiring deep expertise in golf operations management, luxury hospitality service standards, sports facility management, and high-end guest experience execution within premium resort environments.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Golf Operations Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations of golf courses, practice facilities, and club amenities across assigned properties.
  • Ensure optimal course conditions through coordination with agronomy, maintenance, and groundskeeping teams.
  • Develop and implement operational standards for tee-time management, pace of play, and member services.
  • Lead seasonal planning for tournaments, events, and high-profile golf programming.

Member & Guest Experience Excellence

  • Ensure delivery of exceptional luxury guest experiences aligned with world-class hospitality standards.
  • Oversee member relations programs, VIP guest services, and high-value client engagement initiatives.
  • Implement service training programs for golf operations staff, caddies, and hospitality teams.
  • Resolve escalated member and guest issues with executive-level service recovery protocols.

Tournament & Event Management

  • Plan and execute regional, national, and international golf tournaments and corporate events.
  • Coordinate with sponsors, media partners, and sports governing bodies for event execution.
  • Manage logistics for professional and amateur golf competitions hosted across properties.
  • Ensure compliance with tournament regulations and professional golf standards.

Operational Strategy & Performance

  • Develop and manage operational budgets, revenue forecasts, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Implement data-driven systems for tee-time optimization, resource allocation, and performance tracking.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor KPIs related to revenue per round, member retention, and facility utilization.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop high-performing teams, including golf pros, operations staff, and hospitality personnel.
  • Establish training programs focused on service excellence, safety, and operational consistency.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, discipline, and elite guest service standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional alignment with hospitality, food & beverage, and resort operations teams.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 10–15+ years of progressive experience in golf operations, luxury resort management, or sports facility leadership.
  • Proven experience managing high-end golf courses, private clubs, or championship-level facilities.
  • Strong understanding of tournament operations, member services, and hospitality-driven sports environments.
  • Experience working within luxury hospitality, premium leisure resorts, or elite sports organizations preferred.
  • PGA affiliation or golf industry certification strongly preferred.
  • Strong financial and operational management experience in multi-million-dollar facility environments.

  • Align golf operations with broader luxury hospitality, tourism, and resort development strategies.
  • Support integration of technology-driven systems to enhance guest experience and operational intelligence.

Working Conditions

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package: $270,000 – $398,000
